Using niobium and silicon as raw materials, the metal niobium and silicon are crushed and thoroughly mixed into a graphite furnace. Heat the furnace and gradually heat up. When the temperature reaches 1000°C, the metal reacts, and then hydrogen is added to increase the temperature to 1400~1900°C, and then the reaction continues. It is also possible to put niobium pentoxide and metallic silicon in a reduction furnace for reduction at 1400°C for more than 30 minutes, that is, niobium silicide.
